Ybor Heights & Legacy of the Fair Oaks
Last week, Conrad enjoyed attending his own neighborhood association – Ybor Heights – meeting, of which Taryn Sabia, a Tampa mayoral candidate, introduced herself to the audience. The next day, Conrad joined the Legacy of the Fair Oaks Neighborhood Association, where he took the opportunity to share his candidacy and learn more about the community. Conrad always appreciates the heart, soul, and personal investment of neighborhood associations. They welcome all with open arms
Highland Pines
Last Thursday, Conrad met another group of great Tampa citizens, the Highland Pines Neighborhood Association. While there, he had an opportunity to introduce himself and engage with the members about education, affordability, and gun violence. Conrad believes, through state legislation, teacher pay should be increased and school resources distributed equitably, living expenses like home insurance and energy costs should be reduced, and gun laws addressed.
Affordable Energy
Conrad recently attended a community discussion forum hosted by the Hillsborough Affordable Energy Coalition, where he learned more about the rising cost of energy in the state of Florida, as well as options to address affordable energy with state legislation. If elected, Conrad will prioritize addressing rising energy cost with legislation to lower electricity bills and support affordable energy for Floridians.
VM Ybor Neighborhood Association
Conrad recently had the opportunity to join the VM Ybor Neighborhood Association for their monthly meeting, where he learned about top-of-mind issues from the attendees, heard about Tampa Hillsborough Homeless Initiative (THHI) efforts as well as an update from a Tampa Police Department lieutenant. He also had a few minutes to introduce himself. This sharing of information and crosstalk shows how important neighbors working together produce a stronger community.
