USMA Founder’s Day

On March 16, 1802, President Thomas Jefferson signed a congressional bill establishing the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, New York. To recognize the beginning of the Academy, USMA graduates around the world celebrate “Founder’s Day” in the months of March and April each year. The event always stirs emotions from excitement in seeing old friends and re-living cadet stories to moments of pride as you hear and share experiences of continued service to this great nation. "Duty, Honor, Country" is more than a motto, it encompasses the desire, dedication and commitment I have to serve the community as the District 63, Florida House of Representative.
